Before You Set Off to China:

If you're not already TESOL certified, i-to-i can provide you with 140 hours of TESOL training to make sure you’re ready to face your very first class. i-to-i will give you:

• 140 hours of comprehensive TESOL training (you’ll do your 20 Hour Classroom Course in Beijing before your internship starts!)
• Expert tutor advice and tips from the i-to-i team
• Instructions on the next steps to complete your application for the TTC program

Once you’ve submitted your application form and documents to TTC, they’ll work with you directly to organize your internship placement, and visa, so you can arrive in China full of confidence and ready to teach!

When You Arrive in China:

As an expert in organizing cultural programs in China, TTC’s Teaching Internship will enable you to get five months hands-on teaching practice, all in a supportive environment:

• A reputable internship set up for you Five months in China and over 200 hours of practical teaching experience
• 24/7 in-country support TTC is there to support you during your placement, whatever should happen
• Monthly spending allowance You'll receive a monthly allowance of 2,000RMB ($300USD) plus a completion bonus of 2,500RMB ($375USD) from your school at the end of your internship. It's important to note that the cost of living in China is considerably lower than that in western parts of the world - a bottle of mineral water can cost less than 5 RMB
• Accommodation + food provided You’ll live in a private bedroom in shared accommodation and receive all meals Mon – Fri at your school, or a meal allowance if your school doesn’t have a canteen
• Comprehensive 14 day orientation in Beijing TTC will run you through the essentials of living and teaching in China. TTC will also provide you with all of your accommodation + meals during this period
• 2 days of practical TESOL training When you arrive in China, you’ll do your 20-hour Classroom Course right in Beijing – this way you can be sure that your TESOL training stays fresh in your mind!
• Fun Mandarin lessons You’ll have 6 hours of Mandarin lessons during your orientation to give you basic language skills to enjoy day-to-day life in China
• One day tour Including a chance to see the Great Wall, the Bird’s Nest Olympic Stadium and the Ming Tombs, all topped off with a Peking Duck dinner and acrobatic show!
• Airport pick up and transfers to your school
• Visa assistance TTC will help arrange your visa for you. Please note, you will need to pay a visa fee of 2,400RMB during your orientation in China
• A network of new friends - You’ll be joined by interns from the US, CA, UK, IE, AUS, NZ and you’ll also definitely be placed with at least one other intern so you’re not on your own - unless you want to be of course!

What You Need to Do the Internship:

• 140 hours of TESOL training (we can help you get certified if you haven’t started yet!). If you've already done a TEFL course or TESOL course call our experts on 1877-526-3959 to discuss your options
• To be able to arrive in China on the 15th August, 2012 and stay for 5 months
• To be a native English speaker
• To have completed high school/secondary school
• To be 18 years or older
• To complete the 120 hour online portion of your course before the July 15th 2012
• To hold a passport from: USA, Canada, UK, AU, IE, or NZ
• A sense of adventure and an open mind!

What you don’t need!

• You don’t need to be able to speak Chinese! As an English language teacher, the best thing you can do is create a totally English-speaking atmosphere for your students. Don’t panic though – TTC will still provide you with the basic Mandarin skills to help you through your day
• No previous teaching experience necessary - this program is designed for total teaching beginners!
