The 20 Hour Classroom Course takes place over one weekend and allows you to get certified in just two days. This course is a fantastic compliment to the interactive online training you’ll get from our online TESOL courses. It puts essential teaching theory into practice by giving you the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and learn through experiencing English teaching in action. On our 20 Hour Classroom course, you’ll participate in role-playing exercises and activities designed to make you comfortable with applying the most effective TESOL techniques. You’ll get constructive feedback while delivering demonstration lessons for your peers and you’ll critique them as they do the same. What’s Covered on the Grammar Awareness Module?
Our Grammar Awareness Module provides a fun, in-depth grammar brush up course specifically designed to help you understand and effectively communicate key grammar principles to your students.
- Module 1: The Nuts and Bolts of English (5 hours) Begin your grammar review with a look at common grammar terminology, including word classes and parts of speech.
- Module 2: English Tense Forms (5 hours) How are verb forms constructed to communicate the past, present and future? Learn the difference between the continuous, perfect and conditional forms.
- Module 3: English Tense Functions (5 hours) In this module you’ll learn how tenses use time references and how the same tense can serve various functions.
- Module 4: Vocabulary and Phonology (5 hours) In the final module you’ll focus on the sonic aspects of English words. Discover their unique sounds, forms of pronunciation, spelling and, most importantly, how you can categorize them to help students learn effectively.
